Pickup time. It's Day 3 and I'm still worried about Secondo and Terzo making friends.
Me: "Get in the car, boys! How was your day?"
Boys: "Oh, fine."
Secondo: "LOOK!!!! It's Colette!" (Waves frantically at cute little blonde girl walking by with a woman who appears to be her grandmere.)
Terzo: "SECONDO! SHE'S MINE!!!!"
I guess I shouldn't have been worried.

And Here I Thought He Was Only FIFTY Percent French: A Scene From L'Ecole Maternelle
Terzo's Teacher Emilie: "Il n'a pas souri aujourd-hui." ["He didn't smile today."]
Me: "C'est sa premiere jour de l'ecole en France, et il est un garcon serieux." ["It's his first day of school in France, and he's a serious boy."]
Emilie: "D'accord. Ca va mieux demain." ["OK. It will be better tomorrow."]
Me to Terzo: "Terzo! Your teacher said you looked sad today. How was your first day of school in France?"
Terzo: "Oh, OKAY."
Me: "What was the best part about your day?"
Terzo: "Oh, I liked THE GIRRRRRLS."
